That's a good theory. But I believe otherwise.
Indulge me to present my point.

The elder son got his version of rinnegan by being born with it, and thus follows without additional eyes. Had sasuke's descent to hatred (him with MS) and re-acceptance on the concept of love being done with only one set of eyes, i'd be inclined to favor your theory.

However sasuke is taking the madara route (currently has 2 sets of eyes >> EMS) so it is more logical for sasuke to have madara's version of rinnegan.

But since nothing is yet canon on such things, we can also argue that it is possible that Madara awoken his sage rinnegan by descending to pure hatred. Had his "awekening" had something to do with acceptance with the concept of "love" then he could have obtained the elder's sons' at birth rinnegan.

nice to see a intelligent sasuke fan for once ^.^ nice theory but we do not know wether or not something else triggered him unlocking the rinnegan.. maybe it was hashirama dieing and thus loosing control over his own cells that were left behind on madara?
