The way events are occurring are very similar to Hashirama and Madara's own story.

- Madara and Hashirama started as friends/rivals, just like Naruto and Sasuke.

- The curse of his clan made Madara turn against Hashirama and fight him, Naruto fought Sasuke at the Valley because Sasuke left for more power.

- Hashirama could have changed Madara but Izuna restored Madara's anti-Senju feelings. Naruto could have changed Sasuke but thoughts of Itachi kept Sasuke going.

- Despite having fought Madara, Hashirama still wanted them to be friends. Naruto had the same feelings towards Sasuke. Madara and Hashirama created the Hidden Leaf Village, and Sasuke became good again.

- Madara wanted to be the 1st Hokage, but because the Senju couldn't trust Madara, they made Hashirama the 1st. (Maybe this will happen with Sasuke, due to his past crimes)

- Madara felt as if he didn't belong, and later left the village only to attack it later on. (Sasuke may feel like he will always be resented, and become a new Madara)

** Bottom Line: If Naruto doesn't vouch for Sasuke to be Hokage, do you think Sasuke would revert to evil again?

Nope i think its pretty obvious the represent the translation of the uchiha tablet about opposing forces coming together to create balance and peace. Naruto and sasuke will find a way to protect the world and their villlage by working together.

Maybe that will happen. I don't think that everyone in the village will be too happy about sasuke returning, much less wanting to be the hokage.

Sasuke is simply trying to change the way the village sees his clan. But how can he do that if he doesn't become Hokage? it would have all been for nothing.

If anything he WONT be the next Madara, just to show that it was a possibility that ws changed. Just like how Obito was Naruto thrown down a dark path. Sasuke is like Madara, and after hearing the flashback from Hashirama, it is entirely possible that Naruto will be recognised as Hokage, but still pass the mantle on to Sasuke for the sake of his sanity.
