Sasuke vs Neji

Location :Chunin exam finals
Distance: 100 feet
Restrictions: Sasuke does not have curse mark. He can't use it to amplify his chakra and it can't limit his chakra usage.
Intel:Its the neji that faced naruto and the sasuke that fought garra. They have all intel acquired up to that point in the manga.
Mindset: in character.

Please don't say "blank" solos low diff give an explanation. Also its not a fight to the death it's until opponent is unable to fight back/protect themselves.

Neji obviously beats Sasuke in the given scenario since Sasuke's chakra reserves back than weren't so great. Two chidoris and he is tired. Neji can use rotation to counter Sasuke's ninjutsu arsenal and I believe Neji has a higher level of stamina during the chunin exams so he should be able to outlast Sasuke.

Sasuke is faster than Neji but the speed gap is minimal but Sasuke has the advantage in reflexes due to sharingan precognition. Bare in mind this is only 2 tomoe so he may not be able to see through and counter 8 trigrams 64 palms completely.

Neji will win in a CQC bout and at long range, Sasuke's long ranged attacks are countered relatively easily.

Neji wins with mid-high difficulty.

I'm inclined to agree. Most of Sasuke's repertoire isn't sufficient to take down Neji, and just as Icelerate said, Rotation should be able to keep Sasuke out from using any long range attacks and, as far as I can tell, even a Chidori. Not to mention Neji's a fast-paced close range fighter so Sasuke wouldn't get a proper opportunity to charge Chidori like he did with Gaara. Furthermore, Neji's taijutsu is much more dangerous since Gentle Fist can screw with Sasuke's chakra. If Neji uses 64 Palms then Sasuke's down for the count, unlike Naruto he doesn't have a Bijuu chakra reserve to rely on in such a case.

I beg to differ sasuke's speed was equal to lee's without the weights and with shardingan precognition he should make the gap between their sqeed even greater. Demon wind shuriken would be useful due to the second shuriken coming after the first was stopped by rotation. phoenix flower should have the same effect. But you are right on the chidori gambit. For sasuke long range would be better since he has multiple while neji at that time showed none.

neji mainly due to his higher chakra and stamina reserves and rotation. all hed have to do would be use rotation against sasukes strong techs and use his gentle fist to counter close range combat. neji take this mid-high diff

Sasuke would definitely be a fast opponent but if speed alone did the trick then Lee should have had no problem taking down Neji, even without gates. Sharingan precog is definitely a good asset but all it will do is help him dodge, Sasuke will still struggle with landing a crucial hit on Neji to actually win the fight.

As for the long range, Neji could most likely dodge most of them if not just use Rotation, even then a good chunk of them aren't all too powerful so if they get a light hit on Neji they wouldn't take him out.

Yeah if we were talking Sasuke Retrieval arc, Sasuke would take it pretty handily. By that point Neji would not be able to land a hit period.

Neji has more battle experience at that point. He's been a Shinobi a year longer than Sasuke. Sasuke didn't surpass neji in experience until the time skip

Sasuke is fast but only as fast as Lee, who Neji could defeat as long as he didn't use gates. Chidori would land the finishing blow but it seems unlikely to hit. Sharingan will be helpful to Sasuke in close combat but it won't help him land a finishing blow.

That's actually an interesting point, I hadn't accounted for that. Are Sasuke's threads standard equipment though? He used them in the Forest of Death but I don't remember if he ever even pulled them out another time after that.

Either way though it seems like the threads might not be a game breaker, they'd be trouble for Neji if he got stuck but I'd think Byakugan should allow him to locate the threads if Sasuke sets them up. Neji should be swift enough to avoid getting caught in them (as opposed to Kidomaru's web spamming large area of effect traps) and if Sasuke sets them up to impede Neji's attacks then Sasuke would also be at a disadvantage.

standard threads wont make a difference because it wont stop the chakra from rotating, which is what kidomaru's sticky webs did.

Neji did not know about lee's gates. gates lee would dominate neji. Anything short of a fully matured shardingan would be ineffective against him.I'm not saying that no weights lee can beat neji but i am saying that no weights lee is faster than neji and by proxy sasuke at this point in time is faster than neji. With the shardingan to top that off he should at least fair better than rock lee in cqc.
and again neji has no long range attacks sasuke can set up a dragon flame while neji is rotating just like he did oro. use the threads to stop his spinning and burn him to a crisp.
