The thing is all those things that Naruto learned during the 2 1/2 years that he showed in his fight against Kakashi, Sasuke and other top ninjas learned before or during part one. The Kyuubi was strong, but Naruto's basic ninja skills were extremely crap in Part one. His taijutsu sucked, he was not that fast in base, and most importantly he was very unintelligent in battle. In his fight against Kakashi in Part two, he was strategic, thought steps ahead, and manuevered his way around traps. He learned all of that in 2 1/2 years which is very impressive and I think people underestimate that, it takes most ninjas their whole lives. He didn't learn the OP moves to take him to the Kage level, but before you learn that stuff i think its important to have all the "basics" down, and he accomplished that.

Sasuke's basics were already strong in Part one, and during the 2 1/2 years he learned to use his Curse Mode better and learned high level Lightning Nature Manipulation moves. That's the main difference.

You guys do realize that Naruto was severly weakened after the Kyubbi was unleashed? I agree Sasuke would stomp against a full power early Shippuden Naruto in a 1 VS 1 although it wouldn't be that easy. I'd also say that Naruto was in emotional turmoil after seeing Sasuke in a long time while Sasuke had very little to no emotions which is why he was able to trounce on Naruto like a fodder.
