Sasuke's genjutsu isn't beating Minato, whom is easily top 3 in intelligence.

Minato beats ms saskue problly not ems saskue though.
Lets all be honest minato can dodge amertasu and can out last saskue in chakra if saskue uses sasanoo.
Lets not forget how much amertasu takes a toll on saskue so he wouldn't waste his chakra taking out all of the seals minato could place. It's more likely he would focus on the ones close to him to preserve chakra and his eyes. And that leaves minato a place to go if he needed to.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if minato with his sealing techniques couldn't use a seal to stop amertasu if he got burnt with it.
In the end minato wins due to saskue getting tired or over using his eyes.
SMS saskue doesn't have the same problem with his eyes that's why SMS saskue beats minato but ms saskue loses to minato cause of stamina of his eyes

C is fodder, no doubt, but he's still a genjustu user and medic (requiring chakra control and intellect.)

So Sasuke's genjutsu could possibly hold or trick Minato long enough to get hit with black flames.

I'm just saying, if Kishimoto wrote the fight, then a last-minute genjutsu trickery would be one way to end it.

Although I do think in Kishimoto's mind: MS Sasuke < Minato, as Sasuke was still learning to use the eyes.

And Sasuke was a bit hotheaded in that arc. Minato could take advantage of that.

Now, if Sasuke has current MS abilities and calmness in battle, then that's another story.
