Not a very good argument. Gaara had improved since then, and Sasuke didn't pwn Naruto, It was a very close fight that ended in a loss for Naruto because of sentimental reasons.

IMO Gaara would take this. Gaara learned a lot more skills to use his sand. Sand tsunami would have crushed a normal ninja like Sasuke.

hehe, Gaara IMO would destroy Sasuke at this stage. Also Gaara was developing at a more rapid rate than Sasuke, the only reason Sasuke ever got ahead was due to Oro giving him power.
And again Itachi gave Sasuke power and again EMS was given to him.
If it were as simple as character development, Gaara would have always been better than Sasuke.
