What's the point of executing the five Kages?
Are roaches a threat? no.
Do you want them gone? yeah.
Not a threat, but killing them is deleting the past in his eyes.

This was beautiful.

That wont delete the past... If that's the case he should kill every shinobi that's ever killed anyone.
He's main goal lies on teaching Naruto [Kages and Bijuus are in order to get Naruto to get serious in their encounter], the other side of the coin .
How are they roaches? What's the point in him wanting them gone?
They have more pull in the world than him. People will be much more likely to listen to them and support their ideals, which he sees as wrong, than listen to him and support his ideals, which he sees as right. So, the way he sees it, he can either let them live and let them continue leading people into darkness, or he can kill them and "save" people from darkness.
Before people jump all over this post as "supporting" Sasuke, this is just explaining his point of view, I'm not saying what he's doing is 100% right.

Because they're part of the old system.
