I'll attempt to back up some of this, as well as explain where Sasuke's power is heading.

Indeed, Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan is designed similar to an atom. He's also been shown in the "silhouette" fashion similar to Hagoromo Ohsutsuki.

Notice that it was with the Sharingan and the Sage power of the curse mark that Sasuke took control of Orochimaru's inner being. Moving on, we get to Kabuto, who idolized Orochimaru, and saw Sasuke as someone who made significant progress:

Now, Sasuke does not have Orochimaru or the Cursed seal any longer, so what is the significance of showing Sasuke as this person who made progress with Orochimaru's powers? The purpose, is with something known as "Sage transformation", or what Kabuto called "Sage mode". According to him, knowing Sage powers:

Gave him significant progress, and proof of that is the power to breath life into objects. Sasuke no longer has the Cursed seal. He has Jugo's dna, which could allow him to undergo Sage transformation.

And finally, we move on to eyes. While we can interpret "Choku tomoe" to mean a straight path, it probably refers to the ems.

Overall, Orochimaru and Kabuto wanted Sasuke's body for the eternal eyes and Sage transformation. These two were halfway towards what they wanted. And what did they want? Take a good look at this illustration:

The design of Sasuke's eternal eyes matches up with his curse mark patterning. Almost a little too well. What is the significance of this? Sasuke is shinobi with a dual animal affinity--he is affiliated with snakes and hawks.

The snake will fly, in the talons of the hawk. The two powers will exist in a single person, unlike what happened with Orochimaru and Kabuto.

Sasuke is currently the opposite of Madara. While Madara gave up on becoming Hokage, Sasuke is willing to put aside the loss of the Uchiha clan for the sake of changing the shinobi world--for everyone's benefit. I've believed ^him^ to be the SSP for a long time now, and will now present my case to NarutoBase point by point u_u

A) RG is mysteriously old, yet vibrant, which would be expected of the SSP.

B) He wears his hat to hide his hair from the public. In addition he always keeps his eyes closed to hide his Rinnegan.

C) RG has mastery over the animal path, so that he spies with his Rinnegan Hawk through Sauske unknowingly.

D) He has multiple times referenced Naruto as his best customer, but how is this possible as Naruto is young compared to all of his successful years? He was referring to Naruto being the child of prophecy and stays in Konoha to watch over him.

E) RG has been described as "having the temperament of a CRAFTSMAN." The SSP "founded the ARTS of ninjutsu and created the ninja world."- the ultimate craftsman, obviously a hint. In fact, according to the databook, artisan/craft are his favorite words... coincidence? I think not!

F) RG's 2 apprentices, Matsu and Nishi, happen to be male... 2 brothers perhaps? Not sure on this one.

G) Along with Naruto, he was the first character to appear in the manga, making it onto the pilot! It shows his existence precedes the Naruto manga realms, as well as his importance as a central figure.

H) Teuchi's name can mean "making noodles by hand" (手打ち). However, the same word can also mean "killing someone with one's bare hands." His name implies his alter ego as the legendary ninja, SSP.

I) In the Third Databook, Masashi Kishimoto said that when he got mad at the two new cooks (see F), it wasn't a Lightning Release he used. And it obviously wasn't any other elemental release- the only other options is Yin/Yang release, unique to the SSP.

J) Due to the Gold and Silver Brothers' ability to assimilate Kurama's chakra by eating some of its flesh, the Fourth Raikage suspected them to be distantly related to Hagoromo, a.k.a. the SSP. Obviously this is referring to the SSP ability to gain strength from what he ate. And what does RG do? Serve superb ramen- specifically to Naruto who happens to have the 9tails chakra, just like the Gold and Silver bros! Strong evidence here!!
