main reasons why sasuke is a failed villain are:

-Sasuke never had a clear Goal in naruto part 1 and 2...his decisions were torn between following itachi's wishes and and feeding his thirst of revenge....not to mention he was pawn puppet for teh true mastermind villain Tobidara..

-also sasuke kept changing sides....first you see him with team 7 then he joins Orochimaru..then he betrays orochimaru and creat his own taka team...then he joins Tobidara and betray him...then he joins team 7 again ...then he betrays team 7 and fights Naruto...then in teh end he admits his defeat against Naruto and gave in to his Epic talknojutsue.....

-also notice well that whoever meets sasuke could easily manipulate him and shape his character..Orochimaru did that...Tobidara did that..hashirama and Naruto did it too...


-teh best sasuke in my Opinion was Hebi sasuke..or teh akatsuki sasuke i know that teh sasuke husband of Sakura version is stronger then Hebi sasuke...but teh Hebi sasuke was more couragous...when he joined tobidara's side sasuke was filled with revenge ...he had nothing to lose...he was like a Lion ...he could attack anyone fearlessly...

I think he had no other choice tho . What would you do if you were Sasuke ? wouldn't you revenge Itachi ? wouldn't you kill Danzo ?
