Of course it's not personal. I am sure Danzou would say the same- it was nothing personal. One can argue that he was doing for the greater good - just like Sasuke.
The difference is Danzou did have a plan at least and clear ambition and owned it even though I believe he was a self centered jerk and an ruthless opportunist for the most part.
What next? Kage is just a public office. They can be replaced. The war was there before the bijjus or the kages came in existence. I don't remember when Sasuke last time had a definitive plan about what he was going to do next after killing someone/some people/ a village etc. Let's see the options:
1) Be a dictator, threatening everyone? ( How lovely!)
2) Tell everyone he was the hero who saved them all and lie about how kages and Naruto died and thus gain their favour to make them accept him? ( Such an honorable approach!!)
For I don't see other shinobies accepting him at all if they learn what exactly happened after Kaguya was sealed. If they suspected Hashirama even, what can Sasuke do to gain their trust or respect after pulling such a stunt like backstabbing so many people.
In the meantime - this is one cowardly revolution.
How about we wait till we learn exactly what he has in mind before defending him tooth and nail?
Nothing is eternal in this world. Peace is just a relative status and to maintain it, people from each side have to work on it actively and routinely; draw boundaries and yet make some compromises along the way and make a real effort for it. Or they lose it.
K11 already showed that they don't trust him and the countries wouldn't want someone from another land as their leader.
