You can say it's shit but can you recreate this shit with better drawings. Can you make a better plot line involving these characters.

Ok, that's how it started. He needed a rival for the MC to make it interesting but once he made Sasuke's character very nicely, with lots of development he went to work on the rest.
Naruto was also very well done. He was a fool at first but with his increasing maturity his seriousness was likable. His humor was priceless and he really worked hard to master his jutsus and later BM.

Oda is a hack. The one thing he has is world building and colorful characters. Other than that the story's about as flat as your mom's ass.
This series has been ridiculed by more people than me and it deserves every bit of it. Nearly as much as he's been milking this story out.
Kishi is a good artist but that's about it. He's mediocre at best. Once you're popular and mainstream it aint hard to stop challenging ypurself and bs your way to the end you set your mind on.
He made Sasuke's character generic biting off notable series before him. His development is utter rubish given the years of development he recieved. The same goes for the generic MC, Naruto.
His humor is a dime a dozen. How many times can he be an idiot before it stops being funny? How many times does Sasuke have to flip flop before he stops being engaging.
You forget i have a wealth of useless knowledge on this lackluster series. How often has kishi contradicted himself, or lied in interviews. He's barely consistent in his replies.
The few things Naruto has going for itself is the art and since it ended in chapter 700 it cant be further ruine-
