DO you remember when Sasuke lead a charge on the 5 Kage Summit in which he showcased why he is truly a man wrapped in darkness? He even stated, "I have long since closed my eyes, my only goal is in the darkness." Hearing those words sent a chill down readers mind that send a pulse through their heads making them believe that Sasuke is no doubt the most evil villain in the Naruto manga. (in some way). And now more than 60 chapters later, Sasuke is going to the battlefield to "not let his brother's sacrifice be in vain." This is where Sasuke's whole journey into the darkness starts to seem meaningless. To let it sink in, I believe that Sasuke's new change in believe of how he goes about things is perhaps the most "unprofessional" due to how his development was used previous before this shift.

Sasuke left the village of Kohona and defeated Naruto at the final valley of the end to seal a contract with a snake called Orichimaru. After using Orichimaru for his personal gain, Sasuke, then, defeated Orichimaru. He, then, managed to defeat Deidara and reached the end of his long awaited journey, Itachi. After Sasuke defeated Itachi, Tobito lead Sasuke down a road fully entrapped in darkness. Sasuke's EMS began modelling in his upcoming fights.

Sasuke's momentum after those entire battles was exponentially high. It made Sasuke's character more controversial, more in depth, more believable, and more worthy. Since then, Sasuke has lost all of his momentum and looks to flip the switch over to the good guy.

I believe that this is big mistake on the part of Kishimoto. Not only has Sasuke done bad things that put hims on the most wanted list in the Ninja World, Sasuke's qualities do not make him a good guy. I can not see Sasuke as a good guy helping Naruto defeat Madara. Sasuke is an Uchiha. It is in his blood to be a man cloaked in darkness. As I said earlier, Sasuke has done bad things that would NEVER allow him peace. However, Kishimoto can still fix this. Looking at the Moon Eye's Plan, Sasuke has everything to GAIN from helping Madara win. Let's be honest. Sasuke helping Naruto defeat the Jubbi and Madara would leave nothing left for Sasuke. Not matter what Sasuke do now, even helping beat the Juubi, He will still have the entire Ninja world target on his back. THat would leave him for the rest of his life dodging captures. However, If Sasuke helps Madara, he can have his old life back. He can have Itachi back and his family as well. Even if it is just a genjutsu, this is a much better outcome than the other.

What do you think about Sasuke's switch to the good side? Is it rational? Is it beneficial? How will it change the Naruto vs Sasuke fight? Leave a post bellow :D

Erm...

Well... I'm just going to go by the title and say I'd rather Sasuke be a real villain than turn all good. I liked him better as a villain and felt that his character was written to go in that direction. But it seems that is no the case :'(

I still think it's an act, no way his existence in the 200 chapters before Itachi's speech was for nothing...

I liked how evil Sasuke was during the Five Kage Summit. It showed human weakness and how death can corrupt a mind more than almost anything else. However, Sasuke is Sasuke and he is the Perfect Character.. However as much as I love him, I find it difficult to see such a character completely good and it makes more sense if he sided with Obito & Madara or for Sasuke, Taka & Orochimaru to fight there own front against the Allied Shinobi Alliance after the fought the Jubi etc.

Sasuke was always meant to be a good guy in the end, Kishi just did a good job convincing readers Sasuke was sinking further into darkness.

Did you think Kishi would really allow Naruto to fail?

How could Naruto become Hokage if he couldn't even save one friend, right? If Sasuke would have never reverted Naruto would have ultimately failed his mission and therefore couldn't accept his dream as Hokage making him a failure.

Personally I don't mind him being good or evil, Sasuke is Sasuke.

I have personally tried to read a lot into this character in particular and if you look at it in a certain sense, he was never evil. As Tobirama explained, Uchiha value love too greatly and losing it causes them to run wild. Danzo decrying his actions and his remembering Team 7 in his fight with Bee are of great importance here. Remember, he hadn't lost himself until the Summit arc, a few arcs after he had resolved to destroy the village.

Essentially, he realized that every single person that he cares about would hate him. He realized that destroying the village would lead to his old teammates that he cared about hating him, Danzo telling him that he's made a mockery of what Itachi lived and died for made him realize that Itachi would hate him. Loss of love all over, causing him to run wild. He couldn't abandon his goal because all he saw in the village was a group of people that should love and adore his brother yet all they do is ridicule and repudiate him. Indirect loss of love. Basically, he was screwed no matter what he did. Itachi telling him that he'd love him no matter what is what gave him the clarity to actually think for himself.

Basically, if you really take the time to think on it, his lineage and Tobirama's explanation, his actions are entirely consistent and more than just being "evil", he was stuck in a severely terrible situation, especially for an Uchiha.
