Hi guys. I was watching the anime and came across a filler episode titled "Sasuke's paw encyclopedia". The story is that Granny Cat (Nekobaa) hires Team 7 to carry out a mission to get the paw print of Nekomata, a giant evil cat. Team 7 proceeds to infiltrate a cat fortress and defeat the great and evil ninja cat Nekomata and get its paw print.

Which gives me an idea. What if, when Hebi visited Nekobaa to get supplies for Sasuke's upcoming battle with Itachi, Sasuke or another member of Hebi signed a summoning contract with a giant cat like Nekomata? It's not that far-fetched, because as of now there's no real reason why Kishi included this segment. Sasuke could've gotten all the ninja tools he wanted at Orochimaru's hideout, but Kishi chose for Sasuke to come here instead. I would actually prefer it if it were Karin who got the cat, because despite her recent power-up she is still not that strong.

Post your thoughts.

It was filler.
Filler is in no way affiliated with the canon story line.
Sorry.

OT: Sasuke doesn't seem like a cat parson. Maybe Karin would get a contract?

This wouldn't happen in the manga or cannon anime. Kishi wouldn't incorporate filler and cannon.

He has snakes and a hawk already... If he broke the rules twice than that would just be insulting to the reader

The flashback of 4-year old Itachi wearing cat ears and defeating 100s of cats was adorable lol. <3
So was kid Sasuke throwing temper tantrums and kid Itachi making up that game for him. :)

ot: It was a filler so no.

That would make for a cool summoning, but not very effective anymore. Just watched that episode and if they beat the cat when they were that young and inexperienced, its not really on par for the type of battles he would face now. Plus, he's already got that huge snake.

He can Summon Hawks and Snakes. Probably he doesn't need the cat. Anyway the cat is probably very weak now compared to sasuke and everyone else.

I think Sasuke going to NekoBaa before the battle with Itachi was canon, and I was under the assumption that that is where he got his shuriken bracelets. Nekobaa does run an armory

It's not all filler, Sasuke's visit to Granny Cat before his fight with Itachi was canon.
Thats true, but "Sasuke's paw encyclopedia" was filler, and in no way contributes to the canon story line, so without thatfiller, you wouldnt even know about a " evil, giant ninja cat ".

I'm not talking about that giant evil cat specifically, I'm talking about just any big cat in general.
Almost every animal species in Naruto has giant versions of themselves (frogs, snakes, slugs, salamanders, turtles, hawks, centipedes, birds, rhinoceri, buffalos, etc.) so it's logical that there are giant cats out there too.
