He's gonna end up getting beat by Naruto because he keeps pushing his luck. He's seen Naruto's perfect chakra and still want's to act like he's gonna be some kind of tough guy. He's gonna get slammed back down to earth very quickly if he keeps trying to pull stunts like kill Obi. while Naruto is the one to beat him and everyone in the manga. He still thinks he's in a place where he can call shots.

Well technically Madara was the root of all of that, it's likely that he ordered Obito to do it before dying.

I am saying that these people aren't sheep they have their own minds. If Naruto were to attempt to spare Obito he would have met a lot of resistance. These wanted Obito to pay for the death of their comrades. You can't expect them to pick up your viewpoint just because you say so and threatening them wouldn't have helped.
Sasuke saved Naruto from making the decision all together. (unintentionally)
