Sasuke's intelligence is still far worse than Itachi's. He simply has not shown the capacity to think ahead and manipulate his enemy. Sasuke let Madara escape to get his other eye--- this is not a something a wise person would do. Even worse, he gave Madara the time to the eye in his socket and kamui to the other dimension.
I think Itachi and Naruto would have been a better team because Itachi could have Totsuka'd Madara so many times by now with all the opportunities Sausage is giving him.

He is not a god. If he were as godlike as his older brother, Itachi, he would have ended this battle by now. Itachi battles have never exceeded 5 chapters (excluding flashbacks).
