Kishi, said he would do a Sasuke spin off, basically show casing what he went through.
Granted, he did own in the Boruto movie, (but we all knew he was the most versatile) but still even so ... When I say this I'm being truthful;
Sasuke Uchiha single handily could boost Naruto sales much more than Boruto and this entire generation thing.
Also granted "Sasuke is a bland character" you're actually wrong. The plot never really focused on his overall emotions in the series. Just hatred and vengeance and since this "atonement" Sasuke should have a lot to offer.
I'm not totally knocking Kishi, but Oda... Goda has done so much for his series, much more than Kishi. Respectfully they are apart of the big 3 and I grew up with Naruto so even if he is tired he chose to take up the responsibility when he created the series.
Sasuke is more important than seemly last minute created characters to suit the relationship fanbase.
