yes he is able to return but not into the body of sasuke orochimaru is in the body of kabuto takin his body over... itachis vs sasuke lead to they end of orochimaru when he was saeled away from the sword of seals thats itachi keep hidden from orochimaru.. so he no longer in sasuke body but he was sealed n another dimension when sasukw was weak and couldnt keep orochimaru surpress anymore thats when he force himself out of sasuke body n fought itachi...

In the fight against Itachi Sasuke became so exhausted that the Orochimaru inside him came out, after this Itachi used his sword to Seal Orochimaru away, so Sasuke was freed of his mark and Orochimaru.

So basicly the answer is Orochimaru is sealed inside Itachi's sword; this sword has the powers to seal anything away(but let's say it's like a god seal or something) because you can't find this sword physicly.
I think it only have a sealing power.

And have no physical form, so I guess it was sealed and taken to other dimension.
By the way I'm being careful about Oro, cause it seems like he left a portion of his body or even he himself to be able to escape that sealing.
I'm not sure.
