Sasuke Retrieval Arc - Any Emotions?

I re-watched the whole Sasuke retrieval arc and I couldn't help notice a little sadness in my heart. That whole arc seemed very touching to me because the Sasuke retrieval squad tried their hardest, to the moment of death, just to bring Sasuke back! They risked their lives against really skilled shinobi and almost died! What was really touching about the arc was the opening theme though. I felt a little connection between them. What did you guys think about the Sasuke retrieval arc personally? Kinda epic too!

Most epic part was Naruto vs Sasuke tho. In my opinion this was their only real fight. The first clash on the rooftop was short and unifinished. The reunion in shippuden wasnt a small clash if anything and the latest reunion under the samurai bridge wasnt a fight either

My favourite arc of the series. The role of everyone of the characters, and the emotions involved in every fight was just epic. The fights were great and we got to see a lot of the characters use new abilities. Some of the fights were almost tear-jerking and that is the aspect of Naruto I miss the most.

Exactly, this war would be an even better time to include those things xd, but Kishi hasn't really done it which is a shame

Well personally when I was reading the manga, it seemed to drag on a lot. Now that I look back at that arc and look at the relevance to the plot and character development, it was one of the best arcs in the manga by far.

Basically we got to see new powers and jutsus from many different characters (sound five, Shikamaru's team and Sand Siblings) just in that one arc. The fights were more interesting then some of the fights during this war arc. As a matter of fact, I think I should reread that arc and the chunin exams again. Or maybe just watch the anime since those two arcs had the best battles to date.

It was a messed up arc (emotionally) but the fights were sick.

It's a great arc, even if the random sound ninja felt a bit too powerful (especially Kidomaru).

The end made me want to slap Sasuke something fierce though.

I watched it recently as well. I felt bad for all of them they all nearly died and tried so hard to get him back. Then when Naruto finally caught up to sasuke, Sasuke laughed about it and spat in naruto's face.......I was like "Ima F#$king kill him, hold me back naruto"

To be fair.. the fact that Choji and Neji ended up living without at least some perks taken away from them kinda ruined the sacrifice for me. I mean they put so much emphasis on their "death"

agreed, that arc was sooo sad. You seriously felt the emotion during all of those fights. Then the end of naruto vs sasuke... :'(
