I suspect that Kishi is just trying to catch us off guard. He is making it seem like Sasuke is going to be reformed, then we learn some huge secret that sends him full super hatred.
Sasuke's story is all about escalation as a villian, he becomes a bigger villian during each arc. More ruthless and brutal, I suspect that is what this is all leading up too.
Plus I think his target will change, I think that Sasuke will become convinced that he must bring peace through power, like Madara, Obito, and Nagato. Honestly I am starting to wonder if he will actually want to achieve the Infinite Tsukuyomi himself, or decide to take control of the Shinobi World. Suigetsu hinted at this when he met Sasuke after Kabuto's defeat.
He said they would rule the Shinobi World, with the power the scroll gave them.
And don't forget he is the absolute antithesis of Naruto. The Yin and Yang of each other, so I wouldn't worry to much about Sasuke becoming a good guy.
Plus EMS gets stronger through hatred, which means that if Sasuke becomes a good guy he won't reach Naruto's level.
Basically its kinda inevitable that he becomes more full of hatred then ever before.
