The fan boys though. XD Kishi (staying true to his character) has made Sasuke redeemable, in which the cycle of hatred can be broken and the IT undone. If he had killed Sakura, there'd be no chance of redemption at all. This fight isn't a battle to the death, it's a battle that will force the two young teens to realize what they need to & finally break the cycle.
