If he wanted to get stabbed he wouldn't have been that surprised. Sasuke had a different plan in mind but Madara caught him off guard.

Is that really you? and I don't know, Rinnegan can pull and push, but he should have still been able to hold on to his sword. He just dropped it like it had butter on the handle.

Remember Lord Madara has the rinnegan most likely used it the gravitational force to stop sasuke, hence why Sasuke was so suprised.

If he can't even move/control his own body what makes you think he would've at least held on to his sword?
