Tobirama teleported him dude. He asked him when he took the stick out his back if he could still teleport and Tobirama said that he could only do one. So it is more than safe to assume that TOBIRAMA teleported him to the Kunai that Naruto had in his mouth.

Now dealing with Naruto I believe that he knows how to use FTG or a more advanced version of it. Why? Because it would make no sense for him to just pick it up to look cool and it would coincide with THAT JUTSU that was never shown.
