Well Boruto asked Sasuke to become his student, I doubt if Boruto didn't ask he wouldn't have had the time considering the scenario, hell he didn't even visit his family when there was no visible threats until the Boruto Movie. But that's neither here nor there.
However, at the end of the day, when Boruto failed to impress Sasuke from his perspective, Sasuke saw potential in him. Something special about him. Sarada tried to defend him, thinking that Sasuke was going to ignore the brat, but he told Sarada that she was completely wrong, he was going to accept him as his disciple just based on his talent alone.
Sasuke, the strongest Uchiha, and an unmatched Genius had found a student worth accepting. And the kid didn't even believe in himself. Today's chapter really spoke out on their relationship, and on how Sasuke views Boruto's talent as wasted potential.
Boruto doesn't believe in himself, and Sasuke tells him that when Boruto puts his mind to it, he can become a shinobi who even surpasses his father. Despite Boruto still telling Sasuke that he's just over exaggerating (I'm glad Bolt is realistic on this like the fan's), Sasuke re-confirms it, saying that Boruto is able to do it because he is Naruto's son, because Sasuke is his Master, and because he's a bigger usuratonkachi than Naruto (basically a person who hates to lose).
If we're following the events of the Movie, the next chapter or the one afterwards should dive into their relationship even more, and showcase just how much Sasuke knows more about Boruto's abilities than Boruto knows himself (Spoiler: His Elemental Nature Rasengan).
Or Sasuke finally got joint custody of the kid from the Konoha Custody Court.
