Sasuke just lost any chance of redemption

In my opinion, before the most recent chapter, Sasuke could have been forgiven by the shinobi world and even given positions of power. He had saved the world and had earned it. Now, with his resolution to a bloody revolution, all that has been negated. He is no different that Madara was just 30 chapters ago, trying to make things his way and his way only. No questions asked.

The way Kishi has written this whole thing... Sasuke now has confirmed psychopath status. He gives no ****s about anyone. He just dishonored Itachi's name with no regard, when just a few hours ago he had decided to protect the leaf and follow his brother's legacy.

And the worst part is that Kishi's still going to try to redeem Sasuke, because you know he will. Naruto has been talking about how one day he'll finally make out with Sasuke since the beginning of this series. It will happen, but it'll be just as contrived as the current situation.

What do you guys think? Will he be redeemed?

This manga really needs justice.
It's as if every major villain gets the easy lane out in NV...

While the fodder villains are bullied with brutal deaths, Hidan, Dude with many hearts, Dude who blew himself up, Zestu, etc.
I'm not even joking, in this manga everyone picks on the fodder villains, anyone else remember in part1 where they would practically beat the fodder villains till their hands turned red, then look at major villains and p u s s y out?

Sasuke cuts Naruto's Arm off and releases everybody and then pursues his goal.

As the Sage stated, to release IT, the chakras of the tailed beasts and the Rinnegan are needed. I believe Sasuke fully intends to kill Naruto (who carries a little bit of each beast's chakra). Sasuke also stated that he intends to destroy the tailed beasts. My guess is that he captured the beasts with Chibaku Tensei as a means of using their chakras to undo the spell prior to destroying them. This would make Naruto's assistance unneeded.

It's a theme Kishi likes to explore, and I get it. But I think with Sasuke he's taking it too far. The others who were redeemed were really good at heart, and simply needed someone to show the way (Nagato, Konan, Obito, even Kurama, etc.). Sasuke has been through enough already; hearing Hashirama/Madara's story, then Ashura/Indra's, fighting alongside Naruto... all this should be enough to make any person think twice... except little baby Sasuke. Little baby Sasuke wants his power and he wants it NOW!

Good point. God, what a psychopath. I wish he'd rot in hell. Even Madara is more likable now, as a person. Madara's end goal at least was to ensure everyone lived their dreams. Sasuke just wants to rule.

See that's what I had been thinking pre-692. He was making sad faces at everything lol. Sad face at Madara/Hashi goodbye? Check. Sad face at Naruto/Minato goodbye? Check. Sad face at Naruto mentioning his friends to So6P? Check. I guess it was all just Kishi trolling us, because his subsequent rape face was just too intense.

At first i thought he might have turned a new leaf "no pun intended" but after his return I noticed lil things for example : when one of his own asked what he thinking, when sakura started to give fake smiles when Sai asked her things about Sasuke's plans, when he jumped in saying he was going to be Hokage and the kicker was when he tried to solo the ten tails and kill the other tailed beast along with it. We all had hope Sasuke would turn for the good but deep down we all knew he was still bad. It was jus a surprise that it came so quickly after they fought Kayuga.

I honestly thought he would TRY to work it out with Naruto after learning the Ashura/Indra, Hashi/Madara stories. He's just repeating history. Making the same exact mistake as his predecessors. And throwing away Itachi's will and honor. Which, btw, was the only thing keeping him human prior to the war: his love for his brother. Now it's like, fvck Itachi, I'm gonna kill Tsunade and bring the Leaf and the world to its knees.

*sigh* Sasuke hasn't even done anything yet & people already want him to die. We all need to come to an understanding about something. Sasuke's primary goal are the beasts & in all honesty, if you forgot that Sasuke even knew Naruto, you wouldn't look at him as the bad guy per say. The only one that loses because of the beasts destruction is Naruto... And Bee I guess. The beasts have always been used as a source for warfare and Kurama has proven this. If not for the beasts, Naruto would still have a family. Also, do you remember what the Akatsuki Clan were going to used the beasts for? War, money and extortion. Sasuke realizes that in order to eliminate the bigger threat, the smaller threat must first be eliminated.

Sasuke's sadness of last chapter, showed that he genuinely does care, but for the sake of the world, choices need to be made....sacrifices. Sasuke isn't giving a crap about be a ruler. He just wants to end the universal threat to society. Being Hokage just makes sure that it stays in place. I'm no Sasuke fan boy either, for I'm no fan boy of any character to be honest. I just understand the logic behind his decision & like it or not, he isn't wrong.

At least he isn't trying to keep people in a universal and eternal lie like Madara. Now, that's twisted.
