I think Kishi has made it pretty obvious by now that if Sasuke isn't stronger than Itachi right now, he will be in the future. Sasuke will be the strongest one with the power of eyes, and Naruto will be the strongest with the power of the body.

Yata no Kagami is the only thing that makes it superior, yes, however due to Itachi's stamina, he won't keep it up for long, giving Sasuke the win.

Sasuke can't damage Itachi's Susano'o due to Yata no Kagami while Itachi can't even put a scratch on Sasuke's Susano'o.​

Sasuke isn't doing shit to Yata no Kagami because it will change it's attributes to that of Sasuke's attack and repel it, however, Itachi himself isn't doing shit to Sasuke's Susano'o, seeing as how everything in Itachi's arsenal cannot up a single scratch on it. Fact is, Sasuke can keep up Susano'o without feeling pain while Itachi can keep it only for like about five minutes while feeling pain every second while Susano'o is up.

Eventually, he will have to drop it and then Sasuke ends him rather quickly.​
