LMAO!!! In both of those cases he was seemingly a "genius" when using simple sharingan techniques (copying and genjutsu).

Itachi is far FAR smarter than Sasuke - he was the leader of the ANBU at age 13.

The main difference though? Itachi calmly studies situations, find weaknesses, plans counters to counters to counter attacks - he's a strategist and a calm thinker.

Sasuke? He has had a few bright spots here and there, but for the most part he charges straight in and doesn't assess the situation properly.

Example: Sasuke does well in Deidara fight (strategically). But then gets destroyed in fight verses Bee when he charges straight in (although saved, barely, by his team)

no but in all seriousness sasuke has more raw power but itachi is far smarter sasuke. and sasuke is a pretty smart. so i would say itachi until sasuke shows more abilities

EDIT - If Itachi wanted to kill Sasuke at their big fight it would have been done. The fact is, he did not wish to, he instead wanted to 1) get Oro out of him and 2) transfer his abilities before he died.

Now if we instead had EMS Sasuke vs MS Itachi at that time, MAYBE Sasuke wins. But it's still doubtful as his Susanoo isn't as well equipped. Sasuke's Susanoo doesn't have legendary weapons, just "normal" susanoo weapons. (Still good, but not as good)

But lets say that EMS Sasuke DOES defeat Sick, Dying Itachi. Is that really that great of an accomplishment?!
