The concept of dualism has always been prevalent in the story, light and darkness, senju and uchiha, elder brother vs younger brother, naruto and sasuke, naruto and kurama, yin and yang, destroyer (Juubi) and savior (Rikudou Sennin) etc. so it's no surprise if Itachi and Sasuke would mirror Madara and Izuna,

Guess it is safe too say that we have a good idea of what Madara looked like when he was younger--Sasuke.

I did notice but the similarities aren't that strong. Both are Uchiha siblings and both are powerful. Both had a sibling that gained EMS, and all of the, earned MS. In both cases, one of the siblings died so the other could gain a power, in Izuna's case EMS and restore the clan, and Itachis case, MS and later EMS and restore the clan. Now the survivors act in revenge for there sibling... Yep you're right
