The answers to Sasuke's questions were not something anybody could figure out on their own. He asked previous generations those questions to get their opinion about it, so he can try and form his own interpretation. Like a scientist doing an experiment, they research their topic beforehand, looking at other scientists results then go through with their experiment with all of that in mind

He would be wasting chakra, Gamabunta would have trouble hitting Sasuke since Sasuke is so small and Bunta is huge. And what could Bunta do if Sasuke fights Naruto on Bunta's back?
That scratch was small, at most if he aimed for the body it wouldn't even be a serious injury.
