1. I already stated that was not Sasuke's goal. Read OP.
2. He doesn't want to destroy Konoha
3. He never wanted to kill Naruto, even now, it's questionable.
4. Is Sakura still alive? Is Gaara still a threat? How did Sasuke fail? He has comrades.
5. He doesn't want to kill Sakura. Besides, someone intervened.

7. I don't think his goal was to kill Orochimaru. I believe that was Itachi.
8. He only wanted Danzo. And he got Danzo.
9. The fight was never over. He reached Lee's base speed in only a month. Plus, he can fodderize Lee now. Lee admitted Sasuke was better.
10. Pretty sure Sasuke killed Itachi.
11. Tobi is the main villain, he be defeated soon enough.
12. In the end, Bee ran away. Amaterasu soloed.
13. Pretty sure Sasuke beat Deidara.
14. He killed Itachi, who killed his family.
15. The fight never finished. Plus, he never wanted to fight him.
Typical Sasuke hater. Stop nitpicking at his fights that were never completed or was team based.

It's still a big fail, regardless if it makes the story more interesting or not.
Minato would still be alive.
Itachi might still be in the village because Minato would have handled the Uchiha situation differently.
Naruto would have grown up with a mom and dad, and his personality would be a lot different.
Sasuke would also have a different personality.
Tsunade might still be a wandering gambler, since Minato would still be Hokage and there would be no need to find her.
Hiruzen would still be alive because Minato would've solo'd Orochimaru low diff.
Akatsuki wouldn't be as powerful, might not even exist.
Jiraiya might still be alive due to the fact that there isn't a mastermind behind Akatsuki.
Obito would've actually died in the 3rd war.
The list goes on... and this all traces back to Hashirama letting Madara live.

guys we can play this game all day long (if someone didn't fail at that time, this wouldn't have happened) .............. but, it's not right (it wouldn't be the good story it is right now).
the characters in this series have depth and they make mistakes (depends on you prospective/how you look at it/what you consider as a fail) and that's what makes it interesting. the only problem here is the OP claiming that one character never failed and it happens to be one of the biggest fails in the series.

Sasuke made the goal of his life to kill his brother. After Itachi died, Sasuke spent every second of his life mourning and regretting Itachi's death.
Honestly, I haven't seen a bigger failure than this (only exception is Sakura).

Allow to pass in a particular direction: "could you let the dog out?".
Now as I recall, Hashirama made sure he put Madara to death. Meaning he checked if Madara was dead. Madara having a secert plan to survive, isn't Hashirama's fault. IF IT IS Hashirama's fault.. then its also the village's fault. Since Hashirama didn't have to take on Madara.. he only did so to protect the village.

Yep. Nagato would have died when he got attacked by that random fodder.
That one decision really could have changed so much..
Neji would be alive, same with Shikamaru and Ino's dad.

In part one of Naruto. Teamwork was the most important thing. Their mission with the bridge builder was successful. And they succeeded in protecting the village when the Sand attacked.
Sasuke killed Itachi. Call it what you will, but a win is a win.
The fight with Obito and Juubi is not over yet.
