Sasuke seems to have adopted Hashirama's way of thinking, judging by the fact that he believed Itachi and Hashirama shared the same beliefs, and Sasuke inhereited Itachi's ways.

However, if we know anything about Sasuke, it's that he's reckless.

Hashirama states that he will kill anyone that threatens the village, whether they be enemy, friend, or family.

Sasuke will take this to extremes. Since he is now set on becoming Hokage, and doesn't care what anyone else thinks, he will use whatever means he can to prevent somebody else from coming to power and possibly threatening the village. He only trusts it under his own care.

That being said, this provides a perfect opportunity for a Sasuke vs Naruto match to the death- not unlike at VotE, when Sasuke wanted to kill Naruto and Naruto only wanted to subdue Sasuke.

1. Itachi and Hashirama do not have the same philosophy. Granted that Itachi was a child and naive and he didn't have the experience of Hashirama to deal with it. But even as young kids, both were different. Itachi had more of a young Madara take. Hashirama never would've let a whole lot of stuff go down in Konoha that happened after his death.

2. You misread, Hashirama said he would never FORGIVE anyone who tries to attack Konoha or mess with its people. << However this philosophy was not kept by the next 2 Hokage.

You don't get the whole new generation surpassing the old one do you? All the people that Sasuke has been compared to whether that be Itachi, madara, or even orochimaru Sasuke will surpass one way or another. That is what has Orochimaru so interested in Sasuke's decisions at this point, because though they are very much like each other Sasuke chose a different path and orochimaru wants to see whether Sasuke will be able to come to a conclusion that he couldn't. Sasuke won't follow the path of madara or orochimaru.
