Shame. What a fanboy U_U
I'm not even an Itachi fan but his reasons for what he did are more noble than Sasuke's quest for revenge. The lives of one clan are nothing compared to the lives of an entire village.
And there's no need for you be so vulgar. I assume we're both old enough to share our opinions without resorting that.

you are correct i'm a fanboy of Team 7 as you maybe able to tell my my pic and sig i would have sakura but ummmm just no lol. Yes yes we are both old enough so i believe we can agree to leave it at that, my fellow baser.

Selfless nor Selfish I don't believe are the appropriate words. More like deluded, and blinded by revenge. He's walking the path of ruin, and doesn't see it coming. No pun intended.

I think this whole sasuke and obito revenge thing is starting to be meaningless kishi should have created a more Significant reason for their actions.

@OP:
Those actions there you described are selfish in their deep sense of meanings...
Sasuke ain't doing things for anyone, he's doing it for his own heart's satisfication...
And to put others on your kill list just because of heart's satisfication is one of the most selfish actions...

It's simple as that, To defend Sasuke from any positive point of view is just naive...

that isn't selfish if you think about it he is doing all that out of love for his family and brother

he already lost them. killing innocent comrades and the ones responsible wont bring them back. even naruto understands that much.

Its pretty simple..... SASUKE IS SELFISH. The world is not perfect but 2 wrongs dont make a right. The Uchihas had a role to play in their own downfall, not to say they deserved to be wiped out but their paranoia caused it. The 2nd gave them a role to make them part of the village. Even if it was to keep an eye on them after so much conflict only an idiot would not be suspicious and in the end their suspicions were justified, Madara was still intent on revenge and his agenda and the uchihas did plan a revolt. Welcoming a homeless man into your home for a shower, clothes, food and a bed for the night is good and noble but you'll be stupid to leave your valueables out in the open. Its that very sense of "be careful" that none of us do that....Instead, we'll bring the food to the homeless or not let them sleep over.
Itachi is no saint, from the very beginning ive known he must have have been good even with the massacre. Now i dont approve of encouraging sasuke to "hate" him and planting the seeds of revenge (possibly a fail by kishi, maybe he changed his mind about making Itachi noble).
Sasuke was selfless until he decided to go to Orochimaru. Originally he wanted power to kill itachi and then Oro could have his body (knowing fully what Oro would do with it). That in no way is him thinking about others. Like others have said, your anger should be aimed at the right person. Involving innocents or killing "anyone" who gets in your way is the definition of selfishness. So killing Asuma's baby is right? Because Sasuke believes it's right makes it ok? Pleeeease....this thread is a joke. The episode where Sakura tried to kill sasuke and Kakashi tried to reach out to sasuke "again" is clearly proof that Sasuke is out of his mind. His reaction is all that is needed to end this thread. Sasuke has abandoned everyone that has tried to help him, he's tried to kill friends, he's stated that all he cares about is his goal despite what ANYONE says. Definition of selfish: CONCERNED CHIEFLY OR ONLY WITH YOURSELF AND YOUR ADVANTAGE TO THE EXCLUSION OF OTHERS. Getting power BY ALL MEANS, destroying konoha because "HE" believes its what is necessary is selfish. We all know this.

When has Sasuke ever done anything out of selfishness?

His entire life has been about avenging the slaughter of his Mother, his Father, and his clan. Is that selfish? To put his own life at horrible risk for people who aren't even alive anymore, just so the pain inside his chest has meaning? To make sure, that his Brother's horrendous suffering doesn't come to naught.

To loose himself in hatred, abandon every decent thing in his life, for a cause that was lost long ago.

An eye for an eye. Has anyone ever gained anything from that? They have only lost.

He is so self absorbed he can't be more selfish. His father knew the punishment for treason. His mom probably knew as well what the Uchiha's were planning.

His own way of WANTING revenge makes a whole definition of selfishness, he is willing to sacrifice everything and anybody to achieve his goals.

Pretty self absorbed bunch, those Uchiha's if you ask me.

Kill the Konoha Elders and the other individuals responsible for the Uchiha Massacre - fine, I can see why he would have the motivation to do that

But to set out to destroy everyone in Konoha as part of his revenge - he's kind of taking it too far

But it's interesting. It's almost as if he's forgotten the bit about "restoring my clan"

he states that the leaf will protect them so how can he kill those pricks if they get in his way

^So, they're also selfish too? and don't even try to change the subject by saying this different because you said it yourself "To be an Avenger is complete selfishness!" so by this quote all avengers are selfish.

His own personal satisfaction. The entire series he has been out for revenge to satisfy himself. Even when youre proven wrong,(or prove yourself wrong in this case) you still just dont stop and cant accept your mistake. This is exactly how i got you banned last time we got in an argument.

They are avenging for people...
Sasuke is avenging for who??? Itachi, his family, Konoha or Taka ??? He's avenging for his own heart satisfication and that's selfish...

Everything he does is to appease himself. He doesn't care who suffers or dies for his own vengeance. He needs to learn how to get over things.
