Well there are many forms of being a genius. I think Naruto is also a genius: he invented Rasenshuriken- Kakashi said that it needs an inner sense, an instinct for that. After Naruto had defeated Kakuzu, Choji compared Naruto to Shikamaru- the most intelligent character.
