This is a very good theory, but very unlikely. It's a shame cause I think it would've given them a valid reason to fight Hagoromo or argue let's say that and it would add that real sense of drama that I've been looking for again since Jiraya

You don't simply lose the eyes you awakened, he awoke them far before this war in his old age, and even gave Nagato the eyes. The power doesn't just disappear, like Obito said the Rinnegan was immensely powerful and hard to control. They didn't disappear since being transplanted in two bodies, so why would it disappear now?

The only thing he possibly lost is Hashirama's SM, but he still has his DNA in his body.

The first time he arrived the battlefield he answered sakura and told her he wants to be hokage .now when kakashi asks him he doesn't say the same thing ,but he keeps quite . Its like he have a plan change .

At first I thought this theory was just not thought out. Sasuke is a quiet person and he never truly smiles unless his heart is filled with hatred. But the last line got me thinking. He did stop talking about his future. It could also be the fact that he realizes that everything is at stake. Originally Sasuke thought he was unstoppable with his EMS. Maybe the fight with Madara and Kaguya just made him shutup.

As someone who's favourite in Naruto is Sasuke, that would be one of the coolest plot twists ever. It would be great to see how he truly felt about his old team this whole time, and how he'll say goodbye to his former friends.
