Being "Strong willed" is just another way of saying that Naruto is an archetypal protagonist.

Sasuke is not a cool avenger because a real avenger has a strong, own will and mind. Sasuke doens't have both.

While dumbasses like Naruto thought that Orochimaru is controlling him Sasuke just planned to backstab Orochimaru at some point, all according to his plan to get stronger.
Itachi was good liar, Obito thought he was controlling Sasuke either, but he was all wrong just like Orochimaru,
now Sasuke is back to kick Naruto's butt for one more time just like in the old days.

That wasn't a counter to my argument. Even if Sasuke can be manipulated and isn't cool in your opinion, it doesn't change the fact that he is a complicated and interesting character.
Take Holden Caulfield for intstance. Considered to be one of the greatest characters ever created. He is extremely messed up and can't figure out what he believes in and makes stupid decisions.

Yea Sasuke change his mind a lot! But no1 use him as a tool...

First Orochimaru. He learn a lot from orochimaru and after that he kill him.
Second Obito. He try use Sasuke to but how it end, Sasuke got Itachi eyes and much more info he was looking for. And after that he kill main zetsu and now trying destroy juubi.
Third hashirama. He doing all this not because Hashirama told him or something but because Sasuke was looking for this whole his life. Hashi told all bad and good stuffs what happened with Konoho.

So what i wanna say: Sasuke all this time was looking for info. And when he got it he made his mind what he want to be and how he will live his life. He is not easy to manipulate because if it would be so Oro and Obito woudnt end their friendship with Sasuke like this....
