Not sure if serious, all I can remember was sasuke getting in itachi's way and itachi pulling a new jutsu out of his ass, itachi did 99.9% of the work.

Sasuke is complex, you cant expect a character like him to just say"Naruto you can do it buddy, c'mon lets do it together". :|. He is supposed to be badass all the time, his way of geting Naruto back into the fray is by igniting his competitive spirit, something he knows only he can do.
