That, not only would be totally unfair, but would continue the cycle of lies that Itachi pursued and Sasuke fought against.

I can't see Sasuke going along with that.

More lies to protect the village.

So disgusting, so wrong.

Remember how oonoki said that the person who stops Edo tensei will be know as a hero of the SA. originally, there are two ways this can go.
1. Sasuke and Naruto tell everyone that it was Itachi and Sasuke assisted him
2. Sasuke takes the glory of stopping ET.

After a little thought I realized that option one is impossible. Itachi is the one who was charged with the massacre of the Uchiha clan. Having that kind of rep and being honored as a hero would only bring the integrity of the Uchiha that were slaughtered into question.

This would bring shame and more distrust to the Uchiha name. So Sasuke has no choice, but to accept the honor of being a hero if he wants to preserve the honor of the Uchiha.

Logical reasoning, I like it. Agree, + thanks and rep.

The only one who should have known was Tsunade and it was pointed out that even she didn't know. The only ones who know the real Itachi are Sasuke, Naruto, and the village elders.

I know that. None of the Five Kage know about. However, when Sasuke is to be judged, he should tell them himself. That way the secret is kept to a select few but the masses still hate Itachi and know nothing of the Uchiha Coup. the Uchiha name is preserved.

I was speaking about what is best. Please give me your honest opinion on how you think that situation will go down. News that the Uchiha planned a coup, that Itachi who killed his clansmen to protect the village was treated as an S-class criminal, and during his exile Itachi served the leaf as a spy for akatsuki, and this person who was treated so badly by Konoha even after death continued to place the village's safety as a priority. Itachi was a true hero, in every since of the word, but revealing his story would only paint a darker picture of the Leaf Village. This would indeed be wonderful, but I don't see it happening.

U r right about that if what I say happens it would not go down well as it describes leaf as villan , but just leave common sense at side and think it according to each character mentality and behavior bcoz about itachi that is important

1. Naruto did not say about itachi to everyone bcoz kakashi told him not to , as facts where not clear, but now since itachi have cleared that to him , do you think with kind of personality he has , does itachi being treated as traitor go down well with him and he will keep quiet about it . I dont think so , naruto will want that to happen . He is a person no matter what he has to go through he will always do what is right.
“An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it. Truth stands, even if there be no public support. It is self sustained.”

2. Sasuke even now wants to burn down the old system which led to current fate of itachi ,do u think that he will want to step ahead on a base which makes him hero and leaves itachi a villan , when itachi has done so much for village .
"Be the change that you want to see in the world"

3. As for konaha , they have to start making up for their mistakes , accept their mistake and i think youg genration lead by naruto will do the same ,
In her last moments lady chio had accepted her mistakes , and made a way for new genration.
Look if konaha and ninja alliance wants to create a new world then , they must not burry the snakes of past , under their base as they can come back to haunt them. Imp is to face them .

"I am convinced that our movement will be more demoralized and weakened by blind and uncritical admiration than by frank admission of past mistakes."
