Really? U guys r just now noticing this? :| it's the same sword Sasuke had in 700. Also even though Sasuke lost his sword in lava he has a similar one The Last sketches as well as The Rest's opening illustration. Sasuke only has his new sword as an adult.

I went and checked. It looks like just the scabbard was immolated. The last appearance of the sword was when Naruto and Sasuke were fighting Madara and his shadows, and Sasuke used his rinnegan to swap places with his sword and impale Madara. The last time the sword was seen, Madara was pulling it out of his chest. Sasuke never picked it up and fought with chakra blades from then on, so it could just be laying around somewhere.

Madara takes the sword with his left hand , 3 pages later , when we finally clearly see his left hand , it is empty...
So we don't know what happened to the sword , Madara could have destroyed it , eaten it , or just have thrown it away.

Those two images sure look like it. All he had to do was get a new scabbard.

The one in The Rest sure looks like it. All he has to do is get a new scabbard. The one he's holding in the The Last art might not be it. The handle's black.

That might just be Studio Pierott's doing as far as the movie goes.
