They're probaby more worried than ever - the Kyuubi compared Sasuke to Madara, Tobirama did, Madara complimented Sasuke multiple times, tried to get his eye(s) put him above Obito, and Orochimaru, one of the most intelligent characters in the story said he would surpass Madara some day.

Now 12+ years later in the story,and Sasuke is doing something with his eye powers that Madara never did with his - Shift dimension.
