He doesn't deserve such godly powers. This is why Hagoromo had to give him a Rinnegan so he can be closer to the solo king's level. Also, he will get the solo king's disease. He's arrogant, unlike the solo king which is another reason he doesn't deserve his eyes.

IMO Itachi didn't deserve his eyes, he only used them to kill weaklings. Sasuke uses them to fight Juubi, Juubi Jins, and Kaguya. Itachi's glad he died (both times) before the Juubi came back. RIP in Hell, Solo King.
