What do you people not understand about gradual character development?
A character goes from evil to slightly less evil until he becomes good. Sasuke is no longer. as dark as he was in the five kage summit. Naruto himself said so. And he does try to save his comrades now. He saved Sakura and Naruto. He even showed concern when Sai nearly died. However he is not good. He still has character flaws which he will overcome at a date. The presence of these flaws does not mean he has not changed. They mean his change from villain to anti-hero to eventually hero is gradual.
