Instead of using Preta path to absorb Naruto's Kyuubi chakra, he could have just pulled out Naruto's soul.

Using Human path to accomplish this.

Not really, seeing him using it in the wrong situation clearly shows he's lacking in the use of the Rinnegan abilities should of been given to Naruto who has seen it in use and would be a better wielder of the 6 paths abilties.

Like using preta path to absorb Naruto's small kurama chakra when he should of used it to absorb Naruto's RS and Biju RS or before that but hey he himself said he can only use the ones he has seen that or he just doesn't have a clue.

As we have seen with Nagato and Madara you can adjust the size of the chakra barrier in proportion to the amount of chakra you're absorbing. Sasuke only absorbed a tiny amount of chakra from Kurama which means he barely used any chakra for Preta.

A good point, but we don't know how much chakra these two abilities cost. Since Preta absorbs, perhaps it costs no initial chakra. Human path might also require a lot of chakra.
