I just want to say this, Sasuke is absolutely insane. If he was a normal person like us in RL he would be in jail and/or Psychologically whack. I know the events in the manga were crazy and fictional, but his personality is that of an absolute whackjob. People who are fanboys of him are really just reflections of all the girls who fawned over Sasuke. He is cool and awesome and that's why I'm on his ****.
Fact: Kishi basically trolled Sasuke fanboys boy by potraying them as the 11 year old asian girls in his manga.

Sasuke wants to kill his home and his village because his brother made the decisions he made. Itachi was powerful enough to tell Danzo to **** himself. He didn't because he wanted Sasuke to be part of the village and to live a happy life- Sasuke would have been put down with the rest of the Uchiha's if they actually had got to attempt overthrowing the leaf(would have failed, the Hokage of the time would have smacked them). Sasuke instead becomes a bloodthirsty psycho. -Rant over

I don't agree or care about the entire argument. But yes, Sauske is completely insane. He literally is a whiny child who doesn't care about the good of anyone but himself. He's greedy, narcissistic, and condemns many for the actions of a few. He's actually, in my own belief, the most evil character in the series right now, since he alone isn't even feigning that he just wants to watch the world around him burn.

Well if Itachi didn't kill his whole family nothing would've happened and he would be in jail then.

Oh yeah in real life Naruto would be in a freakin zoo.

Most of your logic is a complete nonsense itself. it doesn't make any sense, nor does it put the character's past or the experiences that shaped him into perspective. In all honesty, I would say Naruto seems more of a Psycho than anyone else. He's trying to protect the same people who didn't value his life, treated him like dirt, played fatal pranks on him and what not. His reasoning makes no sense whatsoever. Yet people shower praise on him for no apparent reason. The kid seems positively mental. Why would you want to protect the people who hurt you and made your life hell? I can completely understand if he wants to protect his friends', but the whole village?

Calling a kid whiny who lost his entire family to a political policy doesn't give much weight to your argument. All of us whine over smallest things. All I see in this forum is the good versus evil debate. Please, someone prove to me how Konoha are the bastions of goodness and Sasuke the evil evil kid who is trying to destroy it all? Please do.

Everyone on the whole planet cares about the good of themselves. We are all egoistical, arrogant, and narcissistic in each and every way. If we weren't, phenomenon like country, nationalism, jingoism, patriotism, martyrdom, religion, cast and creed superiority wouldn't even exist. Again a very very moot point, and thank god you wrote in your own opinion.

...holy crap are you actually trying to seriously argue about a fictional series which isn't important in the least?

From character analysis and characterization in respect to plot view point, yes. No offense dude, I find it pretty stupid how people with 1000 pots or so argue that fictional characters aren't important, yet they post on a fictional story on regular basis.

Your opinion is noted. Some of us, however, have different definitions of "important". Frequency does not equal important. It's a time waster.

You come here to waste time, then? Yours opinion is noted as well. Anyways, being a literature student, character and story analysis is kinda what I do and like. No harm in the fact that you don't share my views.

Nah, no harm whatsoever. Sorry if I made it seem like there was.

I still don't like Sauske's motives. To demand justice is one thing; to exact it through brute force is another entirely.

Well, good thing this story is fictional then, right? *rolls eyes*

Sasuke isn't a psychopath; if you search for a psychopath in Naruto, you have to look at characters like Hidan and Kakuzu. Those characters show characteristiques of being a psychopath.

If you have followed the manga until the latest chapter, you would have realized that Sasuke is actually questioning his motives for revenge. Before his talk with Itachi, he just wanted to destroy everything. Now he has second thoughts about it.
Not saying he completely abandoned his want for revenge, but he's thinking about his motives now. A real psychopath wouldn't start thinking about his motives after a talk with a relative.

Also, you don't take into account Sasuke's past, which a lot of people on this base don't seem to do. Most people focus on the actions that are portrayed now and take them on face value, instead of incorporating those actions in the bigger picture of Sasuke's character, meaning putting those actions together with what happened in his past.

Sasuke's want for revenge may sound ridiculous and evil, but if you take into account that he lost his entire clan and got to hear that his brother made himself a wanted criminal to save Sasuke's life, then it's not that surprising that he wants revenge.

Of course you can come with the argument that the Uchihas (well most of them) were guilty and had to be killed for the sake of the safety of the village. They were indeed dangerous.

But they were still Sasuke's family and he loved them. If everyone who you loved was ripped away from you, you would be pissed off as well and want to take revenge too. You may disagree with the actions of your family, but they still are your family.

So if you want to be critical about a character, please take into account its actions and past before automatically assuming the character is evil or a psychopath.

As a butler once said, "Some men just wanna watch the world burn."

But I agree...he has been quite childish...my only saving grace on him was when he started questioning everything, but he will probably just end up making it his goal to destroy Konoha despite talking to the "One who knows everything"...

Hidan, sure, but Kakuzu is just looking for a payday
