Sasuke best character

Not just Naruto or Zabza, characters in the manga are appealing with distinctive traits, which is one of the characteristics of the manga. Mr. Kishimoto's favourite chara is shikamaru. Although extremely lazy he's a strategist type with a razor-sharp mind. That said,
"I like Naruto too. And choji lee... ...well actually I like the charas." Mr. Kishimoto expresses his love for his charas but also he doesn't like Sasuke, the rival of the main chara, very much he adds. "Cos he has given me a lot of trouble. He isnt ductile/obedient... ...that I had a hard time (writing him)"

This 'doesn't like' comment is not from Kishimoto, but from the interviewer, apparently. Kishimoto has said something that puts Sasuke on a nice literary pedestal. He basically says that 'Sasuke challenged him as a writer.' The 'he isn't obedient, and I had a hard time writing him' doesn't even remotely translate into dislike. Sasuke kept him on his toes. He didn't know how to write him easily like all the characters.

Funny, because that is the ultimate compliment Kishimoto has ever given to anyone, as this is what every writer dreams - a plot or a character that challenges him and brings out its complexity. I think I have gained some respect points for Kishimoto, as he gave himself a hard time to flesh out Sasuke.

This just proved that Sasuke is much more complex than what Kishimoto bargained for. I'm glad that Sasuke has much more complexity than the MC himself. That should say something.

Kishimoto didn't even put thought into the other characters.

Pretty much the way I interpreted that too. The fact that Kishi had a hard time writing Sasuke shows how much effort he puts into writing him as opposed to others.

Having a hard time with a character doesn't atuomatically make you a good character, it could also mean that the fans opinion and the editors influenced him as he was writing the sasuke, by that logic naruto is the most well written character cause kishi speant most of his time writing him a Lol

It's really subjective tbh , its up to what type of character you consider "good" . For me o don't really find his character interesting but definitely not bad tho , I just find it kinda stereotypically
