Kishimoto declared that to be his defining characteristic, he didn't define other characters that way just Sasuke.

And being self-centered is being selfish, it means you only care about yourself and your own goals, that isn't a trait a Hokage should have.

And notice in that same interview, when asked who besides Naruto would make a good Hokage, he didn't list Sasuke, he listed Konohamaru.

Tsunade didn't betray the village, and she was already beloved and trusted by the village. Jiraya noted that if she did betray the village he would have killed her.

I'm a neutral party here, meaning I'm not a fan nor a hater of Sasuke (slightly more fan I guess, so not completely neutral), but I think Sasuke taking out the guy who is about to enslave humanity would help tremendously.

I was just making a comparison that i assume many on here can understand. Sasuke is a traitor, plain and simple. There is no cultural confusion. The reason I brought up Benedict Arnold is because I assume the majority of people know who he is and understand what happened with him. Treason very much exists in eastern culture, and they understand it would be absolute BS to give a traitor any power.

The problem is so many mangaka, especially shonen mangaka, have this extreme idealistic thing going on and just don't understand how the world works. Kishi is by far the most guilty of the main shonen mangaka out now. You can't just TnJ villains. Can you imagine Luffy TnJ'ing Lucci? Or Ichigo TnJ'ing Aizen? Knowing Kishi, it wouldn't shock me in the slightest if the Naruto world just forgives Sasuke for everything he did. I mean the So6P did, so why wouldn't everyone else? But the Naruto world doesn't have the mindset of the real world the way series like One Piece and Bleach do, so it's hard for me to take the series seriously anymore. It has absolutely nothing to do with culture.

What did sasuke do? What is the bad thing he soo did that is so terrible? He left the village to get stronger, not once did he ever attack it, in fact he took out orochimaru- the same guy who attackd d leaf 3 years before, he took out danzo and by doin this he has actually helped the leaf cos danzo was a true scumbag who had dirty ways. He stood by and did nothing while pain destroyed d village, he killed d messenger frog hence delaying naruto comin meaning more villagers were killed, so you see, sasuke has indirectly done them a favour. He planned to destroy the leaf but afta meeting his bro and talking with the hokages, he's found his way and is fighting to protect it. So what is the soo called terrible tin that he has done. I dislike it when pple call him a traitor and all yet forget that this leaf village elders killed his clan using his bro and hid it under the rug, they ruined his life, the village is extremely faulty itself yet no one looks at that. Sasuke is fighting ti save the village that killed his family yet he suchhh a terrible guy and a traitor. Like the village is blameless and faultless right?

People forget that Kishimoto showed his fans two paths that an individual can take. The right path, which Naruto chose and the wrong path that Sasuke chose.

Kishi won't give his readers a message that if you go the wrong path, you will achieve your dreams and if you go the right path you won't :|

Naruto, until now still has his eyes set on the Hokage seat and everyone is supporting him. I don't believe that Naruto doesn't have a reason to become Hokage. Here's a few:

• He wants to change how shinobi's are being used as tools after fighting Zabuza and Haku.
• He wants to stop the way Jinchuurikis are being treated, after he fought Garaa.
• Granny Chiyo told him to correct the mistakes the past shinobi made and that Naruto should become a great Hokage, better than any before.
• He wants to stop how the tailed beasts are being treated.
• And his main goal is to get rid of the hatred in the world.

I can't believe that people would think that a kid that never goes back on his words and fought for his dreams and almost died for it, would suddenly stop trying to become Hokage.

1. He deserted his Village. That alone brands him a Missing-nin and the village has all the rights to take him back forcefully as he has the Sharingan - a vital asset to the Leaf.
2. He joins forces with Orochimaru - another Missing-nin who is also a wanted Criminal in almost all Countries and who's name is listed in the bingo book. At this point any hopes of Sasuke being re-established as a full-fledged member of the Leaf died and almost all characters realized that - only Naruto kept his wishful thinking.
3. He gets into a scrimish with Leaf Shinobi which furthers his sentence.
4. After achieving his revenge he joins a Criminal Organisation called "The Akatsuki" who's members are wanted dead by every country.
5. He attacks the Hidden Cloud Village and tries to kidnap their Jinchuriki. As of that moment he will be wanted dead by the Hidden Cloud no matter what the Leaf say about it (and don't go telling me that the Raikage will change his mind couse that is BS). It might also spiral into a war between the 2 villages.
6. He openly attacks the 5 Kage Summit. At this point he is considered a Wanted Criminal by ALL nations. No such acts can (or to put it more accurately should) be redeemed.
7. Murders the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf.
8. Joins Madara (although briefly).

I know it is up to Kishimoto but as far as I am concerned he should pay for his actions.

P.S: Forgot to mention his intentions on slaughtering the citizens of the Leaf. If memory serves correctly, his threat sounded smth of the sort "I will replace their laughter with screams of agony.."

Tobirama did mentioned that Naruto is like his Brother Hashimara.
As Naruto is not that very intelligent, then there will be assistant;

Thank you. Sasuke deserves nothing less than a death sentence, though I'd accept permanent banishment from all 5 main nations. He should live out the rest of his life in his own little village in the middle of nowhere. The Fire Nation should give him a small piece of land and let him live there, but going leaving that piece of land should have an automatic death sentence. That's the most lenient I'd go.
