Sasuke's teleportation is instant and has no start up time. Guy's Night Moth isn't instant, he's just moving at extremely high speeds.

There's a big difference between "space" and "the space".

Twisting space implies Kamui. Twisting the space implies a quantum fluctuation, which is hugely different.

If Gai had twisted space, he would have ripped anything in the area to shreds - including himself. Whereas a quantum fluctuation is when you control the energy on the place and focus it towards a point - this is a quantum fluctuation, and this follows in line with Gai's Hirudora but with Evening Elephant and Night Guy on a more intense scale, in accordance with the extreme boost in power.

OT: I agree with Bipolar, it could go either way. Madara was letting Gai hit him for kicks but Sasuke would have to use teleportation to evade but with the limited range of it, it would be a cat-and-mouse scenario. Who is to say?
