Nope. In that fight, he stole it. He still hasn't transplanted the DNA into his own body. That happened after that fight so there was no way that Madara could awaken it there.​

how do you know he didn't transplanted it? maybe he butt buddy transplanted it to save his life.

Indeed and we also know Sasuke is the one who has to do it and surpass him. I don't see how Sasuke will surpass him with just EMS so personally, I believe that Sasuke will gain the Rinnegan while Naruto will gain Rikudou Mode.​

Imho naruto is done fighting.

but he did indeed transplanted them in to his wound after the fight it didn't say how long after the fight. and two doesn't mean you need a life and death moment to awaken it. all it said was he was about to die maybe it had taken that long for the DNA to final active it.

Sasuke was just stabbed in the heart, exactly where Madara somehow had his Senju DNA implanted. I hear that Hashi may have given him his healing tech. This will all come together somehow and chances of Rinnegan have just shot up.

Madara said that having the Senju and Uchiha Chakra doesn't do anything so yes, you have to be in a near death situation. And obviously, he transplanted them after taking care of his wounds so at the moment he transplanted them, he was no longer in a near death situation.​

I'd much rather him getting Elder Son's Doujutsu.

To be honest, I feel the same. However, I doubt that the Elder Son's eyes are an actual new Dojutsu instead of a drawing mistake since no one has ever mentioned a single thing about his eyes, unfortunately. But of course, this is Kishi so it's possible.​

Errrrr... Maybe the fact that Madara stated that having Senju and Uchiha Chakra in your body does nothing and that he awakened it only in a near death situation tells us that you need to be in a near death situation.. The Uchiha's Dojutsu become more powerful after they recieve more stress so the same thing applies when they try to awaken the Rinnegan.​

I dunno, I think his power up is kinda like the chakra the tailed beast gave Naruto to defeat the juubi. it's a tailor made jutsu just used to stop maddy that will work/activate because he has Hashi's chara, I seriously doubt it's enough give him rinnegan, but we shall soon see.

but rinnegan is not the same as the other Dojutsu of there clan. so I would say it has something else to awaken it then what we are guessing at. because they had to take stuff from outside there clan to help awaken it so I am thinking there is more to it then this.

It seems like there is quite a decent possibility that this will occur. I can't say that I would like for Sasuke to gain the Rinnegan though, I would greatly prefer that he obtain something like the Elder Son's Doujutsu.

To those saying that Senju DNA and not Senju chakra is required, realize that Uchiha MS powers have been shown to be used without the actual eyes themselves; how is the relevant? Well, we know that the actual Sharingan is simply a product of chakra that that is released from an Uchiha's brain. It's likely that the Rinnegan results from Senju chakra that mixes with the chakra in an Uchiha's brain that when released, projects the Rinnegan in the eye. The Senju cells in Madara would be a means of producing said Senju chakra.

I would like to re-iterate that I would prefer for Sasuke not to obtain the Rinnegan, but nonetheless the latest chapter hints that it might happen.

Orochimaru's statement about sasuke's surpassing Madara comes along with Tobirama's statement about Naruto surpassing Hashirama

the meaning is straightforward

Naruto will Hashirama's mokuton+sage mode with his own BM+sage mode while
Sasuke will surpass Madara's Perfect susanoo with his own Perfect susanoo+Enton

Madara currently is a random mix of all powers and is the final villain as of now, Sasuke isn't surpassing that

It was always about surpassing the VOTE fight

While Sasuke will get Rinnegan or not it remains to be seen ... but I dont think Kishi is going to use Sasuke as means to defeat Madara, Kurama's plans and words indicate that.

Kurama's plan is a way of saving Naruto's life.

Hashirama outright says that Sasuke will be the one to stop Madara.
