Maybe just maybe the reason why sasuke doesn't know about obito's involvement in the uchiha clan's massacre is probably because kishi planned on having obito turn good and redeem himself which he has done(saving naruto by sealing yin kurama and the small portion of the 1 and 8 tails in him) and maybe if obito survives the war somehow then maybe he might be allowed to return to konoha and be a leaf shinobi again.

Not really off-topic, he assumed that "Tobi" was Madara, who has the Mangekyou, as the other person to have obtain it currently at the time.
Itachi basically hinted that there was another Sharingan user.
