He had what, close to three hundred puppets made from shinobi's corpses? Each with their own unique jutsu they could pull off? Regardless if they were as powerful as the Third Kazekage; He had an enormous amount of versatility that was just neglected. If he had taken his time and manipulated puppets at a smaller scale and relied on their Ninjutsu, he would of won right there.

He chose to go for the kill rather than avoiding the attack, if he had done that then he would most likely have killed at least one of them. Though I doubt he would have been able to kill both of them. He was a strong Shinobi, but without neither his main puppet, his main body or any of his other 100 puppets, he cannot do much.

She did play a major role in his defeat, and he did praise her for it. (Though she would have died had it not been for Chiyo.)

Sasori was a strong character. If he only wasnt played by Sakura (when she destroyed 3rd Kazekage puppet) he would surely win this, Satetsu Kaihou was just a glipse what he could do with Iron Sand. After that he came to conlusion that he doesnt want to live anymore, but yeah, that was plot device so Gaara and Sakura would be alive.

Sasori, I think was the most unique Akatuski ever(then there is Itachi, Pain and Kisame)... he IMO was top 10 easy without Sage family and crazy power ups... he had a sad back story... it's unfortunate of all the opponents he could have been with, it had to be Sakura... I think Shikamaru vs Sasori would have been great... even though, he has no counter to Sasori's poison.
