Regardless, the kind of flying he's shown doesn't give him enough speed or flexibility during flight to evade

It certaintly does give him the speed as he basically can move as fast as the IS now, however his agility and turning in the air is rather sketchy. However Naruto can't merely have it explode mid-air right? it has to at least hit something first?
Which isn't happening while Sasori is speeding in the air

Keep in mind he can still attack while doing this as well.

lol, no. There is nothing that implies he gets to move as fast as Iron Sand just because they are being controlled with the same ability, especially when Sasori's puppet body is far different from Iron Powder.

It doesn't need to explode in mid air considering the explosion's height and radius compared to the 3rd Raikage in the scan I just posted, and like you said, Sasori takes off to evade FRS, which only leads to the large explosion killing him.

Current SM Naruto takes it pretty easily. Previous forms have a harder time but still win convincingly.

Frog sensing and speed allow naruto dodge everything sasori throws, it also allow naruto to know all of sasori's hidden moves and traps. All naruto need is a bushin feint plus FRS to end the match.
