Gai mid diff. He literally has suitable counters to every single one of Sasori's techniques.

Gai wins high difficulty.

Sakura was able to hold her breath against poison gas, someone as athletic as Gai will have the capacity to do the same. In gates, the repulsive force emanating from the user's body will repel poison gas.

Gai is fast enough to avoid the iron sand (and any other attacks for that matter) so Sasori's best bet is to strike when Gai is feeling the backlash from gates but if an exhausted Gai can maintain high level gates, a fresh Gai isn't feeling backlash until at least 5 minutes into the fight.

Hirudora apparently obliterated susanoo which is a far better defence than iron sand so it'd require a large amount of iron sand to defend against it which Gai most likely won't allow Sasori to conjure up.

The only chance Sasori has is by somehow flying away but Gai isn't going to let that happen and can jump pretty high while also summoning a turtle to gain an even higher elevation.

That didn't happen. Hirudora never obliterated Susano'O, . The jutsu isn't so intense as it could damage a certain part of it's area of effect. In fact, it's good because of it's enormous size. . I believe you would not even mention something as preposterous as Kisame possessing higher endurance than Madara's V3 Susano'O. Even if it hits, most that it would do would be detach his parts and throw them across the battlefield, While Gai relies on his Taijutsu only, Sasori may be the worst match-up for him. Nothing in his arsenal is damaging Sasori, except possibly Asa Kujaku.

Hirudora would obliterate Sasori's core. If the initial impact of the punch blasts Sasori apart, the subsequent air expansion would rip the core to shreds. Hirudora isn't as focused as Sakura's punch.

No, it would not. It acts like a missile, while not as concentrated detonation of a missile at all but has a huge radius, which wouldn't really harm Sasori. The stages go like this;

->1)
->2)
->3)

Clearly after the attack, you can notice that Kisame's body isn't ripped to shreds, but has suffered an attack that had a circular, repulsive like force. To rip his heart with a detonative attack, you'd need to have an attack that pulls on every side simultaneously as needle like (exactly like Rasenshuriken), which is not what Hirudora does at all...

Sure. Though I didn't get the last part. :|

EDIT: Lol, I got the last part. I'm not Nagashi, he's a good friend of mine who introduced me to the base. But don't compare me to that fodder.

You are either DrProof, UchihaNagashi or AC. Don't even try to deny this.

It pushes Sasori backwards which he tanks with minimal difficulty U_U You people realized it did no physical damage to Kisame

Comparing V3 Susano'o with Hiruko mask which got comfortably crushed by Pre-Byakugo Sakura ?

It was Skeleton/V2 Susano'o that took the Hirodoa. Do you see legs on that thing?
